The thing with medical problems is you do not get to choose when something goes wrong, when you get injured or when you get sick, that is not how it works. These things happen to us at anytime of the day, and sometimes a person might not be able to wait until the next time their primary doctors office is opened. Did you know that over 80 percent of the primary doctors offices in the U.S. do not have after hours for their patients, so most people take seek medical help from the emergency room at local hospitals.

Although emergency rooms seem to be one of the best options since treatment will be immediate and done by the best, studies have shown that over half the problems brought to the emergency room do not require hospital based car, and could easily be dealt with if there was an alternate option. This is where what is an urgent care facility comes in. What is an urgent care facility is a local medical care facility. Their patients continue to be split 50,50 by gender, and there is nearly 40 percent of center that are up to nine years old, some even more.

Urgent care services have whatever is needed for normal medical physical exams, and they have continued to be fairly understood by their patients using their services of what they should go there for, with still less than four percent of patients needing transfer to an emergency room. Back in 2002, walk in urgent care centers opened in retail stores with an on site pharmacy. These centers are generally staffed with professional nurses or physicians assistants. But the best part is that most of them are opened 24 hours a day, so you can go there when ever medical attention is needed.
